At the begging of this month I had the chance to take part in the training ‘Present with impact, one day’. The activity was part of my educational training as a PhD students of the Law School of the Tilburg University. I received in advance a form to express my wishes and expectations about the course and, then, according to them a small exercise. I took the course with other 4 participants and I liked working in a small group since every one had the opportunity to receive personal feedback. I really find the training very useful to improve my presentation skills. I gained more awareness about what is going on when people are presenting their work. I really had a good time not only because of the quality of the content and of the exercises, but also thanks to the openness of the trainer and of the other participants! I enjoyed most the second exercise where, after some ‘tips’ in theory, we really had the chance to apply these tips on the spot! with not so much preparation! the outcome was a clear improvement of our presentations! I also really enjoyed the interaction with the other participants, I learned a lot from their ways to apply the practical tips in their exercises. Last, but not least, I very much appreciated that , after the training , the trainer shared with us additional videos and tips via e.mail! This move gave me the impression that the learning experience was not over! I would love to have a training like this oriented towards strategies for successful job interviews.
