Are you an expat looking for a Presentation Skills course in the Netherlands? Or are you Dutch working in an international environment?
Do you have a lot of knowledge in your field, but find it hard to bring this knowledge across to a large audience?
Maybe you recognize yourself in the following:
- After a few minutes you’ve lost your public’s attention.
- You notice that your key information does not come across.
- You’re quite nervous when you present, and you do not enjoy it.
- You do not feel confident, when you speak.
- You neglect to make a professional impression when you present.
- You are not sure how to develop yourself in this area.
It does not have to be this way.
I believe everybody can learn to present in a clear and engaging manner.
For more than 10 years, I have helped hundreds of professionals to become more effective presenters in their own right.
“We, all in our own way, have succeeded in bringing across our message in a powerful manner.”J. Tjan. ISIC team returning from annual Berlin event.
During my 10+ years of training hundreds of professionals, I developed and gathered a lot of knowledge and tools that have proved their value.
These tools cover 4 steps that are needed to transform from a “Beginner” into a Pro.
It covers golden knowledge for effective speaking. And it prevents you from falling into prevalent presentation pitfalls. This will save you lots of time and frustration trying to muddle through year in year out.
Move beyond content
One prevalent pitfall is that highly educated professionals often get too entangled into the content when they prepare and present. Which is an easy pitfall to fall into. Since, we all get judged by the quality of the content that we deliver.
However, being solely occupied with your content will not work for presenting. You also need to know how to bring your content across and how you can connect with your audience. As soon as you learn this, you will start to excel as a speaker. As a result, you will enjoy presenting much more, simply because you notice that it works.
Instead of trying to push a big elephant (too much information) in a tiny box (presentation) while presenting (feeling hurried, nervous, and out of tune with your audience), you will learn to attain your presentation goals with way more ease, flair, and connection. In short, you will learn to become professional and effective as a speaker.
A good start is half the work
A large part of being an effective speaker starts with the right preparation. If you for example forget to put yourself in your audience footsteps from the start and only reason from content and content alone your message will simply not get across and you will leave empty-handed. You’ve worked hard on your presentation without any result. Besides this, you will miss out on important opportunities that occur when you do succeed in being an effective presenter.”
After my successful presentation at the China summit, there is a lot of brewing going on businesswise”.
Jannita Mossel
Imagine that you will:
- Experience freedom when you present.
- Feel and experience that you have impact, with your story.
- Present yourself successfully as an expert to a large audience.
- Become visible in a professional manner.
- Move past your nerves and start enjoying when you present.
- Strengthen your expert status, by presenting to large audiences.
- Get grants and sponsorships.
Present with impact
By learning to present with impact, you will become more successful and attain more in your work.
“With one presentation I managed to get a grant for one of our projects”.
M. van Campen WWF
“After this presentation I am regarded as a serious factor in the business”.
J. Mossel. Owner SpaTree
Research demonstrates that being able to present yourself and your ideas is an important factor for a successful career. You will have the skill to attain what you want, create chances, and obtain finances.
What do you need to make the transformation from a “Beginner” to a professional speaker?
Honestly, from your side only the motivation and willingness to enter an interesting learning process with an open mind. Since following the 4 step PWI method will unlock your speaking potential and lead you directly to effective speaking. With the program you will bypass the persistent pitfalls and if you get stuck you will quickly get unstuck by feedback and coaching.
The myth
Many people think you need to be an extravert or have talent to be a pro. This is absolutely not the case. Everybody can learn to become a great speaker.
What you need is motivation (you have to really want it), make the needed knowledge your own (do the work) and follow the 4 steps of the PWI method. As a result, you will become a powerful speaker a Pro, in your own manner.
What does the 4 STEP PWI approach consist of?
- Learning golden knowledge about clear and engaging presenting and learn to apply it. How do you give the audience what they need?
How to get your audience on board?
How to keep your audience easily tuned in?
How to make sure your information sinks in?
How to speak clearly and engagingly when you do not have a lot of time to prepare?
How to appeal to all kinds of audiences?
How to make a persuasive talk in a jiffy?
What is your personal presentation style and how can you strengthen it? - Learning to prepare properly. So, that when you present, you can “let go” be present and present with ease, flair and in connection with your audience. The true art of powerful speaking!
Teaching presentation skills for more than 10 years has taught me that highly educated professionals often lack a proper preparation. This makes it difficult to have overview and connect with the audience when you present.
Change the preparation, change the “presence”. If you know how to prepare properly, you will be less nervous, more effective, more professional, and convincing and have more fun.
a) Learn to be strategical, how to attain your presentation goals, how to connect to your audience and have an eye for time-management. Create overview.
b) Work on your mindset. We are often our own worst enemies when it comes to presentation nerves. How do you create a helpful mindset that will help you to put yourself in a place of strength instead of pulling you out of it? How can you get beyond your nerves?
c) Make the presentation your own. How do you practice out loud, so that you integrate the knowledge quickly without learning it by heart word for word? How do you create the right grip and remain flexible at the same time?
d) Learn to use PowerPoint in an optimal way! Use PowerPoint to keep your audience tuned in and make your knowledge and ideas stand out.
- Learn to design with impact. Design an iron-strong persuasive presentation based on lessons from the rhetoric’s and current scientific knowledge.
- Practice, practice, practice. Get 360-degree feedback on your presentations.
Learn what you specifically need to become a powerful speaker. What do you need to catapult you into powerful speaking and presence?
Deep and broad
Besides the deep knowledge and approach, learning a skill needs time to ripen. Therefore, this program is spread over 8 months (every other 2/3 weeks a session and last 2 month’s coaching). This also makes it easier to combine it with a busy job.
The 8-month period will give you the opportunity to learn step by step and digest and test what you have learned and put it into practice. So, preferably you plan presentations during this period. This way you will get optimal support and learning happens double fast.
How do I make sure I will integrate my presentation knowledge?
Different forms of learning will be alternated in this program; from private coaching to live group training to online training, to working out assignments behind your laptop and getting feedback on it.
The learning does not stop after a training. It is all about integrating and testing the knowledge and dealing with new questions that may arise. Because only then you will truly learn to the maxim and progress. That is why you can mail me with questions any time, during this 8-month period.
The program focusses the first 6 months on learning all the steps and practicing. The last 2 months consist of mere coaching, so we can tackle new questions that pop up when you put your knowledge into the world.
Read the experiences from previous participants:
“I’ve followed a very special training ‘presentation skills. I expected to receive all kinds of technical tricks. But, it entailed much more. It was also about becoming more conscious of how you stand in front of an audience.”
“The emphasis in the training is really on practising, this way theory and insight can really be applied. According to me , this is only way to really learn.”
B. Goris (Bloem in Beeld)

“The training was a great experience. What I really enjoyed was that each participant received a lot of personal attention. It was also a very practical training.
